What an enchanting hotel. The rooms have a rustic feel, with incredible views of the water and mountains. The bed was comfortable and the water hot. Breakfast was very simple, but covered the basics. They can make a box lunch for a full-day excursion. Dinner was good, though the lamb stew was inconsistent. Wifi was iffy at times.

It took me a while to settle on a rating. I don't usually give five stars, but four didn't seem fair, so I rounded up from what felt like a 4.5. The rooms were clean and comfortable, service was exceptional, and the restaurant food was excellent. It was also more affordable than similar-quality meals in town. The location is the one downside, though the peace and quiet could be a plus. It's about an hour on foot or a 15-minute Uber ride into town. If you want to stay near town, this isn't the right hotel. But for a cozy wilderness inn with a quiet setting, it's perfect.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the location worked well, with lovely views and direct access to the beach. But the food rules made our 12-night stay feel unwelcoming. We hadn’t been told when booking that outside food was banned, with a $100 fine for each violation, supposedly for “chemical safety.” That’s hard to manage for corporate flight crews who may need to get crew meals the day before departure or arrive after hours. On our first night, after walking through the rain to a pizzeria, we brought the food to the common area. Reception told us to eat outside, which felt unreasonable and rude. The employee also asked my coworker whether he’d read the check-in terms and if he always signed things without reading them. Breakfast was another letdown for what we paid. There wasn’t much to choose from, and basics like butter were usually missing. When I asked, I was told “no”; at the front desk, they said there was a butter shortage, which didn’t match what we saw in supermarkets. For a filling breakfast, Tante Sara is just a short walk down the street. We wouldn’t stay here again.

The mountain view from our room was absolutely stunning. I could have kept looking at it all day. Such a pleasant stay.
