Hotel Ananque

The location is perfect, with the center, restaurants, and spas all nearby. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and the staff were friendly and respectful. We were there with my partner and our six-month-old baby, and I found the room small. The bidet didn’t work, the Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and the air conditioning was very noisy, although we slept well. The pools were a treat, especially the heated one, but it felt small for the number of guests. The outdoor pool was nice but a little dirty. I’d suggest adding mini-fridges so guests can keep drinks, food, and snacks cold, plus water dispensers, which are important in summer. Three stars feels fair.

The service was good, but the room arrangements were handled terribly. They made us switch rooms halfway through the stay. The second room was damp, which bothered me because I have asthma, and the bathroom layout between the sink and toilet was awful. The first room was fine, except there were used condoms on the window.

The staff were friendly, but we were misled the whole time about the pool. First they said it would open Friday afternoon, then they pushed that to Saturday, and the water still never got warm. We spent two days waiting around, and only got to enjoy the pool once the weather allowed it, on the second day, which was cold and cloudy. They refunded one day, and we left Saturday night. I wouldn't go back.

Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety, and the location is great, close to everything. The staff were polite, friendly, and gave excellent service. The hotel itself is a little dated, but it's comfortable and clean. Wi-Fi kept dropping out, and even when it worked the connection was just so-so. The outdoor pool was a bit dirty, too. For what it offers, I think the price may be a little high, but apart from those things, everything was excellent.
