Santander Hotel

The location is handy, just a block from the new city center, so we could leave the car behind when heading downtown. The place was clean and tidy, with excellent service and very nice rooms. There’s a spacious dining room, a pool, and a small spa area with hydromassage. Our room was excellent.

The location is the one thing this place has going for it, just a few blocks from the pedestrian area and the pool. My wife and I were traveling in Córdoba and stayed here through the company that arranged our trip. We wouldn’t return. The staff treated us with disdain. One girl, the one without tattoos with straight dark hair, was VERY unhelpful and only helped us on our last day before leaving. She refused to change the sheets. When I said they were dirty, she rudely replied, “When I travel, I bring my own sheets and towels.” Under the bed was filthy, with candy wrappers and other papers. They cut the water off on some days, so at times we had to shower with cold water and put up with it. Breakfast and dinner were okay, but dinner was like dog food, just deplorable. I don’t recommend this place. Look at the reviews.

The location was the only good part. The experience was terrible: some rooms had bedbugs in the mattresses, and children and mothers were bitten, including people with allergies. The owner asked us not to tell anyone so the news wouldn’t spread, and questioned why we were still checking the mattresses. Hygiene was poor, with no cleaning under the beds. They didn’t provide towels, and bath towels weren’t changed daily. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the tiny closets could only fit hanging clothes, not bags. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We came with a dance group, and it was one of the worst stays we’ve had. They had promised the hotel would be just for us, but that wasn’t true. The mattresses were old, dirty, and stained, and several beds had bedbugs that bit several girls, including young ones. When we told the manager, he asked us not to spread the word. No apology, no fix, nothing. There weren’t even basic toiletries like soap or shampoo. When we asked for toilet paper, they handed us used scraps as if that were fine. The reception was nearly always empty, so getting or handing back keys was chaotic. It was a complete lack of hygiene, respect, and responsibility. A place like this shouldn’t be open. I’ll never return, and hope no one else ends up there. Don’t go.
