Hotel Tejas Rojas

You can tell why some people have been coming here for 20 years. The rooms aren't luxurious, but the friendly service from everyone at the resort made our stay wonderful. The pool was lovely, dinner was delicious, and breakfast was good. There's plenty to do, with a paddle tennis court, archery lessons, and yoga. I just wish there were a broom in the room so we could sweep up all the sand we inevitably bring back from the beach.

The staff made us feel like family from the moment we arrived, and the daily cleaning and disinfecting was impeccable. They changed the towels and supplied pool towels, which helped us really relax. Hotel Tejas Rojas feels like a special way to enjoy the sea. You can wake up, watch the sunrise, sleep a little more, then walk 57 steps and be in the water. When you're done, breakfast is waiting. If it gets chilly, there's a heated pool, a jacuzzi with a direct ocean view, hot coffee, and the ocean right there. I especially liked the wooden pergola facing the sea, with incredibly comfortable armchairs. It feels like having your own beach tent without the sand, wind, or other annoyances. You can read, work on your laptop, eat something, or just watch the waves. The patio is another treat, with neatly kept green grass you can walk on barefoot, umbrella tables, and room for slow mate sessions and long conversations. There's a small bar with natural drinks and snacks, a full breakfast with lighter and heartier options, and a kitchen that does really good food. You can have breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner without leaving. Families with children can use the daycare, where kids can join in and make new friends. There's also paddle tennis, a gym with exercise bikes and weight machines, board games, and plenty of little touches to fill the day. The heated pool is kept spotless by Miguel. The one downside? They make you feel so at home and treat you so well that leaving hurts. A lot.

Dinner was delicious and offered plenty of variety: three starters to choose from, a main course, and a daily dessert, with other dessert options each day and a children's menu. Breakfast was very complete too. The hotel has a traditional feel and is impeccably maintained, with spotless spaces and incredibly friendly staff. The location couldn't be better. I'd definitely return and recommend it.

The main concern was the bills. When we arrived, there was a problem with the calculator and we were nearly overcharged by $300,000. Something similar happened on the final summary for bar and juice purchases. Maybe these were honest mistakes, but it made us less confident in the charges. I'd suggest asking for a copy of every signed receipt or taking a photo of your purchases. These are administrative details that could be improved. Constanza was involved in the payment issue. Otherwise, the hotel is pleasant, with comfortable common areas. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, and dinner is plentiful too, though basic, about a 7/10. The rooms have what you need, there are free board games and activities, and the pool is nice. The jacuzzi is popular, though people often stay in longer than recommended. In general, the staff are friendly and attentive.
