Amerian Villa Maria Park Hotel

The front desk staff were really nice, and it seems like a good place for events. We couldn't use the complimentary tennis racquets because it rained. It's well located if you have a car. In general the hotel looked well maintained, but there was mold in the bathroom, around the tub, grout, and toilet, which is why I didn't give it four stars. The restaurant waiter wasn't as pleasant as the front desk staff, and both the restaurant and bar were missing a lot of menu items.

It looks luxurious from outside, but our stay was awful. The restaurant food was mediocre and tasteless, and the waiters stood in the middle of the dining room watching soccer loudly on TV. Service was rude, and the staff didn't speak English. Checkout was a disaster too. We returned from breakfast at 9:40, before the official 10:00 checkout, and found ourselves locked out. Housekeeping let us back in, but the alarm went off when we tried to turn out the lights. Then they charged us extra taxes that, as foreign tourists, we didn't have to pay. Trying to explain that in English was impossible, and checkout took 45 minutes. They didn't offer any gesture of goodwill, like waiving the $2 minibar charge. Tourists should avoid this place at all costs.

After six days on the road from Chile to Uruguay, this was easily our best hotel. We booked online and were glad we did. The lobby was clean and bright, there were good food options, and the beds were really comfortable.

Really clean and nice hotel, and the Argentine food is delicious. I recommend it to everyone. Ask for the Bife de chorizo, it's a great cut of meat you won't find outside this country.
