Posada La Escondida

We had a great stay at this posada. The restaurant and its service were both excellent, and the staff were lovely. The location was amazing too. We hope to come back.

The service and food were excellent at this lovely place right on the lake.

The setting is beautiful, with truly unique scenery, and the decor and luxurious tableware are lovely. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff were warm, attentive, friendly, and helpful. Still, the room was much too small and uncomfortable for the exorbitant price. The mattress had no protector, the sheets were the wrong size, and water leaks had left the plaster on the walls and ceiling swollen. The TV was tiny, some of the armchairs need replacing, and the sound insulation was poor enough that you could hear everything. I might return for a suite if there were a special offer, but at the current price it isn't worth it.

We had amazing views from the room, good internet, and a delicious, varied breakfast. I think I saw a Starlink antenna. The rooms are named after artists and writers instead of just having numbers, which is a creative, tasteful touch. Everything else was truly perfect, and I'd gladly come back and recommend it. The one problem was the whistling wind coming through the windows and doors. Maybe good weatherstripping would fix it. It was so loud that we couldn't sleep, though it may have been an especially windy night. We stacked our suitcases on the door to press it down and quiet the noise enough to finally sleep.
