Kos Pilar Hotel

The hotel's architecture is charming, but that was the only good part for me. I was there for a 15-day business trip and couldn't find another hotel because of Lolapalooza. The stay was not pleasant at all. Noise was the biggest problem. A train passes right in front, and you hear it every time one goes by. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, there's a party on the rooftop. The music and vibrations reach the room until 2 a.m. I could only get a proper night's rest on days without a party. You can get used to the trains, supposedly. The attendants' prejudice made me even more uncomfortable. They seem used to dealing with "good looking and well dressed" people, and treated me differently when I dressed more casually. One receptionist stopped me to ask which room I was in. When I asked why, he said it was for security, since people from outside the hotel sometimes use the restaurant or rooftop. I gave him my room number and moved on, but at almost 200$ a night, I didn't expect that sort of treatment. One day I got back from work tired and needing a rest, and there was no water. All the showers had been moved to the spa, so you had to leave your room and go there to find one that worked. That's the last thing you want after working several hours.

Very disappointing. The hotel is small, and service is poor and limited. The tiny pool fills up quickly. I asked for towels and never got any, and the waiter didn't come back with my order. Breakfast isn't buffet style, and the portions are very small. The bathroom floods quickly, and there was no toilet paper when I arrived, so I had to ask for it separately.

A clean, well kept hotel in Pilar, with plenty of design details. It works nicely for business meetings. There's a heated pool on the roof, a decent gym, and the restaurant downstairs has a good selection.

A really nice spot to unwind and get business done.
