The view is easily the best part, and the bed was fine. The shower splashed a little. The kitchen had no oven and was missing a few everyday things, like a can opener and a knife. That seems common in Patagonian cabins, so I didn’t take off many points for it.

The setting and views are lovely, and there’s a well-stocked general store and a good bar. Once we got a campsite, it was fine, with a lake view, a nearby water tap, an electrical outlet, and a grill. The location is very good. Getting that campsite was the frustrating part. At first they said there was no space and only family campsites were available, which seemed ridiculous to me because of the limit on people at each site. We spent that night in a dormitory that cost 150,000 pesos, extremely expensive for just one bed. We asked again the next morning and then got the lakeside site. My other issue was the women’s bathroom, especially the shower area, which was always dirty. One day there was no hot water; the next day it was available, but the pressure was VERY low.

The location is excellent, and the facilities are clean and well maintained. There’s hot water throughout the day. The dorms are cozy, just a bed and a couple of chairs, but nothing else, and I found them a little overpriced, especially in high season. When we arrived, dorms were the only option they offered us, even though cheaper choices were available.

We came expecting a quiet campsite, but it was the opposite. The weekend was overcrowded, people ignored the conduct and quiet rules, and there was a loud party one night. Guests played music on speakers and talked loudly despite the rules about speaker use. We couldn’t use the shaded sites because staff said they needed to keep them open in case more people arrived, so we had to set up in full sun. Dogs were allowed without any rules, and one relieved itself beside our tent. After reading other reviews, we realized we’d been charged more than other guests, which felt completely discriminatory. Traful itself is beautiful, but I’d research your accommodation carefully.
