Hotel Andreas

I had an extremely disappointing stay. The room we were given was dirty and run down, with serious cracks and fractures in the ceiling that made it look as if it could collapse at any moment. I politely asked to change rooms because I was worried about my family’s safety, but the host coldly refused and gave an illogical excuse. It felt as if guests’ lives meant nothing. Guest safety should be a hotel’s top priority, yet here it seemed the only concern was collecting money despite the risks. I had to leave that same day and request a refund through Booking. I strongly advise against booking this place. It was unsafe and unfit for accommodation, and fell short of even basic cleanliness and safety standards.

Madeley was a lovely, friendly hostess, and the village is quiet, with a couple of nice bars nearby. Our rooms were comfortable, the shower was excellent, and every meal was tasty and well prepared. The skiing was poor, though, with steep, icy red and blue runs that were just tracks. That was a pity because I’d happily stay here again. Cheers, Andy.

The rooms were a little small, and the shower and toilet area was cramped, but everything worked fine. The location more than made up for that. Alpbach is a small, beautiful place with glorious views across the valley to the mountains. The week started with sunshine and ended in snow, three seasons in one week, and memories we won’t forget. We had a wonderful week at Hotel Andreas, with very friendly, helpful staff and stunning food at breakfast and dinner. Thank you, Madeline and your team, for a wonderful time.

The room photos on Booking.com didn’t match what we found. We were given an old, worn room when we arrived, and the bed covers weren’t clean. The location also wasn’t as good as I’d expected, and I felt misled by the earlier reviews. A disappointing stay that I wouldn’t repeat.
