For the last 5 years, this place has been a joy for me and my friends while working as ski instructors. The markterwirt sits in the heart of altenmarkt, with easy access to the local resorts of altenmarkt, zauchensee, and flachau. Inside, there are historic pieces reflecting the family's long connection with the town. Franzie, the owner, is one of the friendliest men I've ever met and a great person to talk with. The food is unbelievable, especially my favourite, the wild ragu. I highly recommend it.

We were happy enough with our stay, but I thought the room would be cleaned daily. Even just having the trash taken out would have been good, and that didn't happen. We also missed the 7 a.m. breakfast, same as in February.

We have fond memories of this place and will come back when we're in Altenmarkt. It's a really nice restaurant, with a great atmosphere and tasty food. The staff were kind and helpful.

We like this hotel enough to return every year, and we've already booked again for next year. The rooms, food, and location are all great, and the price is very reasonable. What makes it such a pleasure, though, is the lovely owners and staff. They're always polite, attentive, helpful, and friendly, and nothing seems like too much trouble.

I only wish I'd taken a photo before eating, since the food looked lovely too. The pork with cabbage and dumplings, which I asked to have changed to potatoes, was delicious, and the meat was perfectly cooked and falling apart. The pizzas were delicious as well. The waitress was kind and polite, and the service was amazing. I highly recommend the restaurant. I haven't stayed at the hotel, so I can't comment on it.
