My wife, Sharon, and I came across this place by chance while looking for shelter in Salzbur in April’26, and we were so glad we did. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the Austrian food was delicious, and Victoria, Cecilia, Martin, the housekeepers, and the others were helpful, friendly, and informative. The photos looked appealing, and the kitchen was fairly decent, but we can’t recommend the place after what happened. We arrived at 6:30 PM with two hungry children, only to be told our room had been given to someone else. We’d booked and fully paid for a two-bedroom apartment through Booking.com, received confirmation and arrival instructions, and even got a message suggesting we reserve a restaurant table. The receptionist was dismissive and blamed his manager, who he said had told him at 3 PM. No one had contacted us by email, phone, or Booking.com. If we’d known in time, we could have calmly arranged another place to stay, and the situation would have been understandable. Instead, they offered two smaller rooms that didn’t match our booking, for the same price. That was far from ideal with children. The whole thing felt unprofessional. The receptionist had an ironic smile and stood with his hand clasped behind his back in a self-important way. There was no effort to warn us in advance or prevent this unpleasant situation.

We had a quiet, romantic dinner at the hotel restaurant. The traditional food was very good, though a little expensive, and the atmosphere was lovely. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was cosy, with a lovely cottage feel. There’s a pharmacy opposite and a supermarket about five minutes away by car, which was handy. The one downside was that our room could have been cleaner. Aside from that, everything was 10/10, and it was definitely a stay to remember! :)

The service was the best, and the hotel’s location and style made the place feel like a work of art. We’ve stayed in places like this all over Europe, but this one topped them all. “Exquisite” isn’t a word we use lightly, and even that barely captures how much we fell in love with this place. Many thanks to everyone who made this such a unique experience. We recommend it to people with very, very high expectations.
