We found the room clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent too. Gasthof Schachinger is in a perfect spot for a family winter holiday.

The best thing here is how close it is to the Annaberg ski slopes, just a few minutes away by car, and there's free parking beside the hotel. The staff were pleasant and the food tasted fresh, though breakfast was fairly limited and you have to ask for eggs. The hotel has a retro feel and potential, but the value for money isn't there at present. The bathrooms really need updating, and noise carries badly because there is practically no sound insulation.

The service was friendly, but the meal was inedible. The vegetables were frozen, cooked to mush, and had no taste; the meat was barely seasoned. That mixed grill cost €17.90. There aren't many restaurants nearby, but next time we'd rather drive farther. The children's play area was in very poor shape and seemed dangerous: the play tower had no slide, just an opening someone could easily fall through.
