We had a great time at Haus Petra between Christmas and new year, and would recommend it for a worry-free holiday. The service was excellent: breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and a bit more than we could finish. Whenever we had a question or a problem, she helped us out. We were warmly welcomed, and although my German isn't very good, she spoke to me in good English. Our room felt personal, with many details handmade by the husband. It had a kitchen that was small but enough for my wife, baby, and me, with everything we needed to cook dinner, plus a washing machine. The bathroom was modern with a touch of Tirol and roomy enough for us. The wooden floor creaks a little, which didn't bother us and seems normal in wooden houses. If you don't like wooden floors, Austria may not be for you 😉 The building sits in a valley between two mountains, with a magnificent view. Stockach, the small village near Bach, is between the larger villages Reutte and lech, about a 30-minute drive away. There's parking for around 6 cars at Haus Petra.

Breakfast is a must, with freshly baked bread and different bio sides each day. The apartments are spacious, well equipped, and very clean, and the house welcomes pets. It's well situated in Stockach, in the beautiful Lechtal. Best of all, the lady of the house and her husband are incredibly friendly, helpful, and “gemütlich”. We'll definitely be back!
