'Spacious 3br' at levasseurgasse 2, listed on Expedia as 'cozy 3b near kaufpark alterlaa', has one thing going for it: overnight options in the 23rd district are scarce. If I needed a night in the 23rd, I might consider returning, though there are plenty of places in nearby districts. The shared areas of 'spacious 3br' are spartan, like a construction zone. Bring your own toilet paper. The bathroom sill had a handful of nails on it, and there was light soot on the floor. The person who listed it couldn't be reached by phone or email, even after I booked a night through Expedia and registered on a site called camelotels. The recorded phone message suggests WhatsApp texting. My check-in instructions did eventually arrive. For someone renting a private room in the 3br, the front gate and the apartment door to the shared areas are left open. The first door needs a key, and the door to the private room...

The place looked run down and smelled really bad, even in the hallway. I booked based on the photos, but the only room they had was small and nothing like the one shown on the site.

The room was in terrible shape, and the cleanliness was completely unacceptable. There were yellow marks on the pillowcases and blood on the duvet. It felt disturbing and unhygienic, and this was one of the worst places I've ever stayed. The property seemed poorly cared for overall. Even with these serious problems, they didn't take it seriously or offer a proper solution, and they turned down my refund request. I can't understand how a place in this condition is listed on the platform. I definitely don't recommend it.

There was no Wi-Fi, the TV had no channels because its antenna cable wasn't connected, and the old windows let in plenty of street noise. The entrance was in the middle of a construction site, with dust, constant noise and open doors. The owner didn't answer or return my calls. Inside, the place felt neglected and unhygienic. The toilet smelled strongly of urine as soon as we arrived, and there was visible mold in the bathroom, on the sink and on the tiles. The shower was broken and its hose leaked, so we couldn't shower. In the kitchen, the kettle was full of limescale, the oven was filthy and unusable, and the dirty, icy refrigerator was leaking. The bed's headboard was covered in dust, as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and the toilet seat was dirty too. For five people staying three nights, there was less than half a roll of toilet paper and only two towels. It was an unacceptable stay and not relaxing at all. I absolutely can't recommend this accommodation. It's a shame a place like this is offered on travel sites.
