Die Traunmühle

We returned to the beautiful Traunmühle for New Year’s Eve with friends, five families in all: 10 adults and 11 children aged 1 to 10. There was plenty of room for everyone, with enough beds, and we made good use of the kitchen and both common rooms, including the play area. Even with that many of us, sharing one bathroom and two toilets worked out fine. Each morning we could order fresh pastries from the Haas family. Mr. and Mrs. Haas welcomed us so warmly and were very friendly. They even let us bring our dog and cat for the snowy holiday. We’re grateful for the lovely time with our friends at the Traunmühle.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is large and spacious, and the hosts are very friendly. There’s a huge garden with a swimming pond, wonderful on a day with 30-degree heat in the shade. The location worked well too: Bad Aussee and Grundlsee are both about a half-hour walk away, and there’s a good restaurant nearby.

The landlords were friendly, and the property is quiet and spacious, with large living areas and wood-burning stoves that heat up nicely. Fresh rolls can be ordered for every morning. The Taublitz ski area is nearby and has plenty of space. Great value for money, and I’d recommend it to families and others alike.

Between Bad Aussee and Grundlsee, this is an idyllic holiday apartment with its own swimming pond and a private lawn behind the house. The apartment is 200 square meters and very affordable for that amount of space. You’ll need to bring your own supplies.
