I left after just two nights instead of the six I’d planned because I couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep. The bed was too soft for me, and the room stayed around 25 °C at night. Even with the heating off, warmth came up through the hot water pipes under the floor, and I couldn’t adjust it. Opening the window helped with the heat, but traffic on the highway right below got very heavy from 6 a.m.; once I woke up, I couldn’t get back to sleep. With the window shut, I lay there sweating and couldn’t fall asleep. The staff were nice, everything was very clean, and breakfast was simple but really good, especially the dark bread and coffee. Still, sleep matters most to me.

The host was so warm and welcoming, and the rooms were cozy. Breakfast had a tasty range of dishes, too. A lovely place to stay while visiting Bad Aussee. I’d happily return and recommend it.

The location in Bad Aussee is fantastic, with a wonderful view, and everything was clean. My room was fine, though the thin walls meant I could hear my neighbor snoring 😴. The breakfast was generous and very good, almost too much to finish, so bring a container 😊. The price felt fair. I’d missed when booking that the cheaper rooms have their toilet in the hallway. The place also reminded me a little of a parish hall.
