Christmas Eve here turned into the loveliest surprise. The owners treated us warmly and professionally, and the two-bedroom suite had plenty of room for our family. My children loved the castle, the staff, the mountains for skiing, and the location. It was the most traditional Christmas I’ve ever had, and the kids already hope to come back next year. Thank you for everything ♥️

We spent four days at Schloss Thannegg in August, and it became one of the most memorable trips for my family. The owner checked in personally to make sure we were comfortable, and his daughter Katharina made us feel so welcome. Everything seemed thoughtfully arranged around what we liked, which made the whole stay feel special. We’d gladly return.

The bathroom water pressure could use a little improvement, but it didn’t take away from our magical stay at Schloss Thannegg. The castle has a wonderful atmosphere, and the owners were so friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend it for an unforgettable getaway.

The owners, a lovely family who also run the castle, made my visit such a pleasure. The castle sits in a beautiful valley in the Austrian Alps, and it’s a great base for exploring the region. The traditional food was delicious, and the customer service was terrific. Sky Club Austria paragliding was an outstanding experience, so you really must try it! The castle dates back to the 1100s, so there’s no elevator. Rooms are comfortable, with traditional eiderdown bedding, and the bar, sauna, and spa are in the dungeon. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The hosts are so friendly, and we love staying here. Breakfast is great, though there’s no restaurant. They’ve put lots of care into the details without making the place feel overloaded. You really do feel like a medieval knight or maiden in this house.
