Genusshotel Almrausch

Dinner became our favorite part of the day. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony view that made mornings feel like a postcard. The atmosphere at dinner was lively, with the hotel buzzing with guests and their four-legged family member. We had a perfect table from which to watch the staff coordinate each multi-course meal; their choreography was a delight. The staff were generous, thoughtful, and attentive throughout our stay. The setting is hard to beat, between the ski pistes and majestic mountains, and near Millstätter See. Everything felt cared for and genuinely welcoming. We can't wait to return. The food, snacks, and service were a real highlight, and I had an amazing massage too. It's the little touches that show how much love goes into running this guesthouse. Guests are spoiled, from encouraging notes to rose petals and gifts when leaving. Highly recommended!

After skiing, it's nice to have a wellness center and several kinds of saunas to relax in. The hotel is well equipped and right beside the ski slope, with excellent food and very friendly, professional staff. English is no problem.

A lot of the breakfast dishes were dirty, which is unacceptable for a four-star hotel. Dogs are allowed, but hygiene doesn't seem to keep up, as clean bedsheets came with dog hair. Also, rooms in the same advertised category aren't all equally renovated, and would be better divided into different categories. The hotel looks great in the pictures and has good reviews, but I'm surprised by such high ratings. The pool was closed, despite being shown open in the images, so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor pool on the lovely snowy days. That was a major reason we chose this hotel. It's quite small and fills up quickly, and it only runs until 7:30 pm, while dinner starts between 6:30 and 7:30. An unusual schedule, and more flexibility would be better on holiday.
