The price was good.

The noise was what finally ended our stays here. We’ve dealt with problems from other guests every year because the doors are thin and the rooms hardly insulated, but this time a bar in the neighboring building had DJs and loud music until the early hours. After it shut around 2 a.m., a big group of men kept shouting until about 5 a.m., including in the room right above us. We could barely sleep. I messaged the landlady at 2:45 a.m. because it was unbearable and needed attention. By 10:15 that morning, there was still no reply or apology. We’d been coming for a spa break for three years in a row and had been satisfied enough to return. This was disappointing, and we won’t be back. The apartment had noticeably gone downhill: mold on the shower grout, heavy limescale on the screen, and hair on the carpet. The pillow was extremely thin, and the pillows, blankets, and sheets were all poor quality. The kitchen had cooking utensils but not even basics like salt. They wouldn’t allow a checkout just 20 minutes later because the cleaning staff needed that time. We were allowed to check in early at 10:30 a.m., though. I rent out apartments myself and know the work can be demanding, but guests should still get basic cleanliness, some service, and consideration. It felt like nobody really cared about the building anymore.

The thermal baths are only a five-minute walk away. Our apartment was very clean and had a small kitchenette, and the fridge was already stocked with a nice range of drinks. The staff there were very friendly.

The bistro under our room kept things noisy until 11:30 pm and later, which was quite disruptive. We weren’t told about it when booking, and although we don’t go to bed early, we would have picked another room. The apartment itself was very spacious, with two bedrooms joined by a connecting door, a WC, bathroom, and anteroom. Reception was friendly and helpful. It’s centrally placed, about five minutes on foot from the train station, thermal baths, and shops. A free shuttle around town stops opposite the pharmacy and can be used with a guest card. We also enjoyed the breakfast at Hotel Stadt Wien across the street.

We spent a weekend here with two families and came away really pleased, and pleasantly surprised. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and being so close to Aquapulco worked perfectly for families with kids. We couldn’t have asked for more.
