Hotel Lebensquell Bad Zell

The breakfast was generous and really good, and the saunas and some of the activities were great too. We came for a day spa visit with breakfast, but there are only a few relaxation spots in the spa for non-members. Fitness also turned out to cost an extra €8.50. The studio was pretty poorly equipped, with only 30mm bars and equipment that was hard to adjust for taller people.

This is about the thermal baths, not the hotel. I enjoyed the infusion with potato wedges, but the loungers were few and felt like the ones at an indoor pool. The pools seemed quite cold, maybe around 32 degrees Celsius. The sauna master looked glum and didn't seem happy about how crowded the sauna was. The restrooms had black grout or stains and silverfish, and at times there was a really unpleasant smell, for instance in the outdoor showers near the saunas. I also think charging another €7 for each sound bowl infusion is pretty cheeky when it's not included in the entrance fee.

The staff are consistently friendly, helpful, and accommodating, and there's always someone ready to lend a hand. That kind of support also reflects management's openness to suggestions and constructive criticism. Thank you so much, Ms. Schinnerl! We came back for a few days for our second stay, and as wheelchair users or people with limited mobility, holidays can be challenging. We were very impressed that almost all of our suggestions and improvement ideas were taken up and put into practice. They bought several raised loungers, added various bed risers, and even installed a lift in the water park. We highly recommend Bad Zell for wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments. Just ask and explain what you personally need.

The staff were really friendly, and the room was clean and a decent size, though a bit dated, with very hard beds. The breakfast and dinner buffets were limited and nothing special. There’s a small wellness area, and the outdoor pool felt rather cool. Everything was fine overall, just not a particularly memorable stay.
