We never got to stay at the resort. We'd traveled 1,000 km and had nowhere else to go, but the host wouldn't let us in after 9 PM, even though he'd confirmed by phone that we would arrive late. The host was staying on the hotel's first floor. He answered calls from neighbors but not ours. We lost the money for three nights, which he refused to refund. We've traveled a lot, and nothing like this had happened to us before.

The room was warm, comfortable, and very nice, and the hotel staff were lovely. Food was top quality, though some might want more choice. Dinner between 6 and 7:30 pm worked for me, but could be restrictive for others. There are only house wines, with a good beer selection. I didn't have time to try the wellness facilities, though they looked great. The location is great, an easy walk to the Sonnalmbhan chair lift, the nearest lift. The apres ski bar only opens for two hours on Fridays and Mondays. Berwang is quite limited for this, so I think the hotel could make more of it. The residents bar usually stays open until 10 pm, depending on the customers. Check-in is from 4 to 6:30 pm, which may be awkward if you're traveling from the UK. Call or email if you'll be late. They kept check-in open until 9 pm for me. I had a great stay and week, with lots of snow and six days of uninterrupted sunshine.

The owner and family were friendly, and both the breakfast and dinner buffets tasted good. Our assigned room was clean and spacious. The hotel also has a gym and wellness facilities.
