Haus Grünstein

Haus Grünstein is convenient for groups, with a common room and a guest fridge, and there’s a small supermarket less than 200 meters away. We stayed two nights. The hostess gave us a warm welcome and immediately shared tips about restaurants and the area. The rooms were clean and just as pictured, and the Wi-Fi worked very well. Our bathroom was quite small, but fine for a weekend of skiing, with a hot shower and good water pressure. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented, with yogurt, fresh fruit, cheeses, and cold cuts. They also had options for guests with allergies.

On our Via Claudia Augusta hike, we stayed one night at Haus Grünstein, and it was perfect for us. The hosts were very friendly, and breakfast was excellent. The room was clean, we could sit together in the kitchen, and drinks were available to buy on site. They even provided tools to repair a bike. We highly recommend this house! 😊

The breakfast was decent, the breakfast room was nicely decorated, and the service was friendly. Beyond that, we were disappointed. The bathrooms and furnishings seem to date from the building’s construction in the 1970s, and there was mold all over the bathrooms. After a long day of skiing, we couldn’t shower because there was no hot water.

That mountain view from the balcony at sunrise was hard to describe. We were three and had a room that suited us perfectly. After arriving at 9 pm, we were greeted so warmly. Downstairs, the shared room has a fridge with crates for storing food, plus a microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and dishes for meals. Such welcoming hospitality. We’d happily come back and recommend this guesthouse.
