Alpenperle

We stayed in the Almkopf apartment, which was clean and spacious. Veerle was a fantastic host, offering useful tips and help whenever we needed it. The location is handy too, with everything just a few minutes away by car. Highly recommended!

The rooms feel cozy and welcoming, and Wi-Fi is free. I’d definitely recommend the breakfast. It has everything, and they can make a particularly tasty egg, too. The owner greeted us very politely when we arrived and speaks several languages, including German and Dutch.

The hosts were what made our holiday. They were incredibly kind and friendly, and the whole place had a warm, homey feel. While we sat outside, an older gentleman, who I think was the host mother’s father, showed us his telescope, which he uses to watch deer in the mountains. He also shared what he’d noticed about their behavior. The host mother was just as lovely, and we had a nice chat with her while checking out. We found a room at the Alpenperle at the last minute for our fall trip to the Zugspitz Arena, and were so glad we did. The room was small but quite enough for the two of us, clean and quiet, with a lovely view from the window. Shops were easy to reach by car, and the main attractions in the Zugspitz Arena were nearby, so we didn’t have to spend an hour driving. The owners were very friendly, which was a plus. The place itself didn’t feel like a country house or a hotel, though. The furniture was old-fashioned, the beds uncomfortable, and the bathroom awful. The floorboards creaked like they were in a 19th-century house.
