Grand Hotel Bregenz - MGallery Collection

We had a great time in the upgraded room, especially with that exceptionally comfortable bed. The wellness area is enjoyable and stays open for long hours. We also liked the hotel's interior and the restaurant, where the hake and dessert were particularly delicious. It might be nice if the sauna were available earlier in the morning. When our coffee machine wasn't working properly, the staff kindly offered us coffee at the bar, which we appreciated.

We really enjoyed being right on the waterfront, close to the city center, and found the staff attentive, friendly, and ready to help. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and breakfast was wonderful, especially the freshly prepared eggs, fresh farmer’s milk, and range of quality cheeses. Bartender Petr deserves special thanks for making cocktails that weren't on the menu. They were outstanding. We were able to relax and enjoy our stay here, and would gladly return to Grandhotel Bregenz.

I emailed the hotel directly after their reply below, six days ago, and still haven't heard back. That says a lot about the service, and it's totally unacceptable. Our check-in went smoothly, and junior suite 318 looked fine when we arrived. But at 5:45 in the morning, my wife found the shower drain blocked and the whole bathroom flooded. We used every towel and even the bathrobes to keep the water from spreading into the room. She ended up fixing it herself and found a filthy, clogged drain filter. That's a basic housekeeping and maintenance failure. Waking up to a flooded bathroom is unacceptable at a hotel of this category. At checkout I reported what happened. The receptionist showed no concern or empathy and didn't apologize, only saying she'd inform the technicians. That was no help after the damage had already happened. We were told a manager would call from 9am to discuss it, but no call came. The email we received afterward, which was attached, offered no compensation, accepted no responsibility, and made no attempt to resolve things. Further attempts got us no response from guest relations or the experience coordinator. This was a completely unacceptable stay for a hotel presenting itself at this level. Problems can happen, but what matters is how a hotel responds. Here there was no follow-up or recovery, and I saw no care for guest experience, accountability, cleanliness, or service. I'd strongly advise avoiding the place unless you're prepared for indifference and poor management when something goes wrong.

The sauna and fitness area were great, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent, the location was perfect, and the rooms were very comfortable. The cosmetics provided were top quality too. I hope to stay here again someday. Merci!
