Hotel Germania

Free parking was a big plus since I was traveling by car. The hotel is only 300 meters from Lake Constance (Bodensee), with the town center a short walk away. Last September 2024, on my way back to Munich, I spent one night at Hotel Germania in Bregenz, Austria. It was a restful, delightful break. The hotel is modest in size, but very clean, cozy, and well kept. Check-in was seamless, and the reception staff were friendly and attentive. My room was comfortable, with modern amenities and soft bedding, so I slept peacefully. A beautiful beach on the Bodensee is just a few minutes away on foot. I enjoyed the clear water and quiet atmosphere while taking photos of the scenery. A good choice for a quiet lakeside stay, whether for one night or longer. Highly recommended!

We spent one night in July in Junior Suite n°115, two adults and two kids. The room was awful, dirty, and dark, and nothing like the pictures on the site. There was no window in the main bedroom, and the two small windows looked out onto a service staircase, despite the “beautiful view” described online. The furniture was old, and the children’s bed was past its best. Its destroyed mattress meant they slept very badly. There were spider webs and an old shoe under the kids’ bed (see pictures). Someone also tried to come into our room very early in the morning. We asked to change rooms or get two double bed rooms, but the older woman at the desk didn’t want to discuss it, even though the site showed availability. We asked for a refund so we could go somewhere else, and got no answer. 300€ for this disgusting place. Avoid it at any cost.

Breakfast was very good, and the hotel was still a comfortable place to stay overall. The building looks really nice, and most of the staff were friendly, though unfortunately not everyone. There were a few annoyances: the drinks and snacks dispenser stayed out of order for several days, the bar was often closed, and the restaurant menu was very limited despite being quite expensive. There was no coffee machine or small fridge in the room.

The price and location are just right, and service was good. The rooms are a bit dated and run down, though. In one of the rooms we booked, the shower head came off. Still, it’s a decent place at a decent price.
