We'd stayed at Hotel Rainers21 several times since it opened and had always chosen it first for its location, cleanliness, and the quality we'd expect from a 4-star hotel. That changed during our January 2-4 stay. After the first night, we found a bed bug on the white sheets in room 520 on the 5th floor. When pressed, it left a visible blood stain, so it wasn't an innocent insect. We didn't have bite marks right away, but knowing reactions can take days, we were very worried. We told reception and asked to change rooms. They did move us, though the receptionist questioned whether it was really a bed bug. After that, we couldn't feel at ease or sleep normally. We checked out that same morning, deciding we wouldn't return. About 10 days later, bite marks appeared on our skin, making us more afraid we might have brought bed bugs home. We also later saw reviews from other guests reporting the same issue, going back as far as summer 2025, which suggests the hotel knows about it. The hotel never got in touch after the incident, and that showed no responsibility or concern. For a 4-star hotel, this was a very poor experience. Be cautious and check the bed before sleeping.

The restaurant was great, and the pizza was amazing. The hotel is a long way from the city center. It took 25 minutes to walk to a nearby train station, and the walk back from the train was difficult. You can get an Uber for 8-12 euros.

Breakfast with show cooking is included, and the rooms are modern, well-appointed, and clean. It's a nice modern hotel, a little outside central Vienna. The bed was too soft for me personally.

I couldn't get a good night's rest, and it seriously affected my stay. At around 11 PM, just as I was about to sleep, a large insect flew onto my pillow. I was shocked and had to take all my luggage downstairs to switch rooms. The front desk said a previous guest had opened the window, but that's no acceptable excuse. It suggests the room hadn't been properly checked or cleaned before a new guest arrived. With hygiene and management like this, I can't recommend the hotel.

The hotel is very modern and right by an Autobahn exit, but there aren't any attractions, restaurants, or coffee shops within walking distance. There was no fridge or kettle in the room, and those are crucial for me. Breakfast wasn't tasty at all. Each time I left the parking lot, I had to ask for a ticket from the machine, and it felt like I was bothering someone.
