The location is the one real selling point, though even with that, I think the place costs too much. The accommodation is very dated and needs a major renovation. The chairs are worn, everything was dusty, and it wasn’t clean. When we moved the bed, there was dust that looked like it had been there for months, and crumbs from the previous guest were still on the kitchen counter. We were even concerned the electrical outlets might set our charging cables on fire. Our dog was explicitly allowed, yet we were still criticized for it making a mess. That felt ironic given the state of the house. The curtains didn’t properly block the light, so our youngest child couldn’t sleep well. We’ve stayed in the same location in Damüls for less and had better quality furnishings. Not recommended, the price and what you get just don’t match.

Being able to ski straight out in the morning and back to the house in the evening feels like pure luxury. The ski lift and village are ideally located, and for the price, the value is hard to beat. It’s simple but cozy, great for a skiing or hiking holiday, and family friendly. The welcome is warm, from the landlady to the senior owner. We’ve been regulars for years and are staying at the Bischof house again for our ski holiday this year.

The landlord leaves notes on cars parked on his meadow, insulting parents who drive their children to ski school and calling them complete idiots who should stay away. If they try to speak with him, he waves them off and tells them to keep away. He won’t accept that there might be a reason for driving the children. He even tells them not to come to Damüls again, saying plenty of other people want accommodation. It seems he has really let himself go.

The best thing about the place is its position beside the ski school slope and close to run number 1 at the Uga lift. The rest feels dated, from the building and interior to the poor Wi-Fi. For what we got in service and room amenities, it was simply too expensive. I’d choose Haus Krumbach next time.
