Stay-In Vienna 23

We booked the apartments directly by email, but by mistake they were given to another family who had booked through Rbnb. We only found out when we arrived, so we were disappointed and frustrated. The owner offered us a smaller apartment on the first floor at a lower price, which helped. It was small but cozy, with a cottage-like smell. There was no TV, but the WiFi was good. The furniture was old but well maintained, and the mattresses were perfect. The pillows were too old and uncomfortable, though. The kitchen and bathroom were small but well equipped, with everything from a hair dryer, washing machine, and dishwasher to slippers, a hairbrush, and toiletries. Our coffee machine and oven didn't work, but there was a microwave, kettle, and electric stove. There's a large wardrobe. It was generally clean, though we noticed cobwebs in the corners and some ants may appear. The place was quiet and relaxing, so it didn't feel like we were in a big city. The center was easy to reach. Parking is by the house, but space is tight, with room for only about 3-4 cars parked close together. It felt like staying in Grandma's cottage and going back to childhood. The owner is very friendly and speaks English well. We'd probably stay again if we return. Thank you!

Mr Chenfu was very helpful. He let us pick up the keys well before check-in and showed us how everything worked in the apartment. He lives in the same small, multi-room house, and the apartment is on the first floor with its own entrance. We only had to call him to get the keys. Checkout was easy too, we just left them on the desk. The apartment isn't very modern, but it has what you need for a short or medium-short stay. Coffee, tea, sugar, and other small essentials were provided, so we didn't need to make a supermarket trip right away. The closest one is about 600 m away, near the U-bann station. It's a convenient last stop on the U-6 line, and public transport takes 30-40 minutes to reach the city center. Finding a parking spot can take a while. There is free street parking in Wien, one of the last areas where it isn't charged, but it's usually very busy. You may find a space by driving around the small streets, as many others do, but the cars move slowly while everyone searches. Once parked, getting back out can be tricky in the evening because local residents leave little room between cars. The apartment smelled as if nobody had visited for a long time; even the spiders in the corners seemed relaxed. It was a bit noisy, with someone walking overhead or in the yard, where the lights kept switching on automatically even late in the evening.

Quiet, spacious, clean, and cozy. There's no TV, which is actually a plus since you can start talking to each other again ;-)
