Übergossene Alm Resort

We felt at home from the first moment, thanks to Hanna and team for all the help and recommendations. The location, peaceful atmosphere, service, spa and food were all outstanding, and the yoga platform overlooking the mountains was a lovely extra. Übergossene is something special, and it’s now our number one luxury resort. We’re already looking forward to coming back, and thank the team for such a lovely stay.

We were here for a wedding and really enjoyed the stay. The balcony had breathtaking views, the amenities were great, and the food was delicious. I’d highly recommend it to all kinds of travelers.

The staff made us feel welcome and did their best to keep us comfortable. We especially loved the spa, pools and heated pond, and the loungers with mountain views were wonderful. The parking garage had chargers for electric cars, which came in handy. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with plenty of variety, attentive service and a changing menu. We also ordered a picnic basket and were very pleased with it. The activity newspaper was a great idea, and we used the Hochkoning card almost every day. The services, facilities and stunning views made this an unforgettable stay.

Vanessa at the desk was fantastic when we had technical trouble with the phone holding our hiking maps. She patiently helped us try to log in to GaiaGPS, then spent quite a while helping plan our hike out and our bus and train trip back to Salzburg. The service was first class, and the whole stay was an awesome five-star experience. This is a fancy resort, and it may not usually attract regular folks like us. We used points, paid extra, came in the off-season and had a basic room. Dinner was very formal, with five forks and five tiny, artfully arranged courses. We preferred the excellent self-serve food and drinks in the afternoon, especially while relaxing on the lovely terrace after two hard days of hiking. The resort and surrounding area are gorgeous, with fantastic views, and everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming. The wellness and pool area is incredible, with seven types of sauna. Marcus, the very friendly Spa Master, explained that in Austria people are expected to be nude in the saunas, but should lie on a towel rather than directly on the wood. I’ve traveled to 19 countries and had no idea about either the seven sauna types or the nudity expectation. It was fine by me, but embarrassing not to know, and nobody had explained it. I loved the amenities, though our room got really hot overnight and had several very annoying flies. If it fits your budget and you’re comfortable in fancy surroundings and around people with lots of money, I definitely recommend staying here.
