Biolandhaus Arche

There was loads of outdoor space for our four kids to run and play, and they could get separate meals like spaghetti or noodles if they wanted. The food was vegan, all natural, healthy, and really tasty, from the salads and soups to the main courses and desserts. We stayed for several days, and the rooms were clean, the air was good, and the nature was lovely. Thanks, Biolandhaus Arche, for a nice break. We hope to come back in the summer.

The location and scenery are lovely, and breakfast was okay. But I wouldn't recommend this as a normal romantic hotel stay in Austria. We booked through travelbird last year, and the place wasn't presented as it really is. It felt more like staying in someone's home than at a hotel. Our room was old, with no TV and an old bathroom, and didn't meet the standards I'd expect from a hotel or guesthouse. The family has its own idea of what's good for you, with no meat and bio food served at set times. A bell rings and then you have to come to dinner. The dishes came extremely quickly and weren't up to the Austrian standards I've experienced elsewhere in the country. The employees, or perhaps interns, looked unhappy. Our room was overbooked, so we were moved to a cottage. We were glad to leave. The owner's response to this review is false. We did visit seven years ago.

I paid for my parents to spend a week at Biolandhaus Arche, which advertises itself as a vegetarian hotel. During their stay, they kept smelling meat being cooked. One day the beef bouillon smell was especially strong, and when they asked, an owner said they aren't vegetarian themselves. In my opinion, cooking animals at a vegetarian hotel is ridiculous and unethical. It feels like they're just making money from us without believing in vegetarianism. They might even use the same dishes for our food as they do for dead animals. I won't spend my money there again.

Breakfast was amazing, with so much fruit, juices, different cheeses, spreads, and fresh baked goods. Dinner was a tasty four-course meal, with portions that weren't huge but were just right, even for non-vegetarians. It's a friendly, family-run hotel high up on the mountain. Our room was spacious enough and had what we needed for our little one, including a big bathtub, fridge, sink, and a cot we requested. The hotel also organizes or recommends events every day. We'd definitely return once our child is bigger.
