Once we'd settled in, the food was decent, and on the other days the staff were very friendly. Our room was cleaned really thoroughly every day. But the arrival was rough. We were told the place was overbooked and had to spend the first night at a different hotel. The directions made it sound like the other place was across the street, but we spent ten minutes searching for it with all our luggage after a day of travel. We were then expected to carry everything back the next morning. We went back and asked them to pick it up for us. They could have made more effort to make up for their mistake. Instead, we got vague directions and no compensation. I'd have given 4 stars if that hadn't happened.

Ellmaunis fantastic, and the town is in a great location, so we still had a good holiday. That wasn't thanks to this hotel or Crystal holiday, who we booked through. The rooms are large, but there's no atmosphere, and the hotel seems to do the bare minimum for guests. At most, it's a 3 star place. The restaurant was the worst I've had in over 30 visits to austria. The food was really average, the waiters seemed to hate their jobs, and everything seemed to be a problem. Despite daily cleaning, the cleaners forgot our room twice. The spa is small, old, and tired. The ski room feels unsafe, with lots of steps and no security cameras. The wine selection was awful, with only terrible Austrian wine at expensive prices and no other options. With new management, this wonderfully located hotel could be so much better. The manager or owner should visit the Hochfilzerhof and see how hotels from the 21st century work. Steer clear unless you're desperate.

We had a lovely view from the room balcony, and the shower was great with really good water pressure. The staff were lovely and nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was really good, and the hotel was great value for what we paid. Highly recommend it, and we'd like to go back next year!

We're so glad we chose Alte Post after a family member recommended it. The staff are really friendly, and the food is excellent. My husband and son are vegetarian, and they got a wide choice of menu's, all very tasty. The location is great, close to all amenities, with a bus stop right outside for the pistes and other locactions. Thank you, Anne Marie, for everything x
