The room was clean and had everything we needed, and choosing the excellent breakfast was definitely the right call. The guesthouse also made a great base for exploring the Austrian lakes nearby. We stayed several days and were really pleased. The owners were kind and helpful, and we’re grateful to them. I’d absolutely recommend the place.

Haus Hochegg was a friendly, helpful family-run B&B in a very quiet little town, a short drive from Salzburg. I stayed for nearly half a week in December 2018, and it worked really well for seeing both the city and the Austrian lake district. There’s a lovely mix of nature and culture, with plenty to do and visit nearby. I’d happily return.
