Breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choices and everything beautifully prepared and delicious. The staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming, like good friends hosting you. We had a wonderful time at Das Filzmoos. The hotel is very comfortable and cozy, with a genuinely relaxing feel. It’s the sort of place that makes you want to come back again and again.

For the hotel’s price, the rooms are very good. Breakfast was included and amazing, and the woman serving us was really friendly.

Our apartment worked really well, with two separate bedrooms, a bathroom, a separate toilet, and a small kitchen. It felt a bit too chilly for us at first, but we asked for a space heater and then had no complaints. Breakfast had something for everyone, including fresh eggs made to order each day, omelets, poached eggs, and fried eggs in different styles. The coffee was excellent. We spent the time between Christmas and New Year's at "Das Filzmoos" and had a fabulous stay. The location is ideal for skiing. The chairlift and beginner-friendly ski school slope are right behind the hotel, and we were even allowed to use the magic carpet for a small tip. There’s also a beginner tow lift on the other side, with a slope suitable for bobsledding and sledding. A neighboring hotel has an après-ski bar, and there’s a sports shop next to it for ski rentals. The village center, with its supermarket, bank, and other shops, is just a 5-minute walk away. For our first evening, we booked a horse-drawn carriage ride using information on the Filzmoos website. It was a wonderful experience. With the Filzmoos Card, tobogganing is free. You buy a single chairlift ticket behind the hotel, or walk up the path, then get a free toboggan with the card at the hut on top and ride down the run. The run ends halfway down the mountain, and you walk the rest of the way. We brought a sled for our 2.5-year-old for that final stretch to the hotel. We packed swimwear in case the weather was bad, since the Filzmoos Card includes the swimming pool, sauna, and ice rink. The weather was fantastic, so we didn’t use any of them. The hotel also has a sauna that staff will turn on when needed. Just ask, and it runs for three hours. The room is big enough to work up a real sweat. I’d happily return to Das Filzmoos anytime and highly recommend it.

The setting is excellent, and the ski area is nice for families. But our basement apartment was cold, especially the floor, and the room temperature was low. Cleaning was poor, with dirt, cobwebs, and worms. Basic items were missing: no extra toilet towels, soap by the sink, cosmetic mirror, or tissues. The ceramic cooktop was dirty. The shower silicone was damaged and moldy, and the screen was rusty. The mattresses sagged in the middle. The apartment layout was cramped, with hardly anywhere for suitcases. There was no proper wardrobe, even though there was a large empty alcove. The makeshift hanging area was far too small for three children and two adults, especially for drying clothes in winter. There was no shoehorn and too few hangers. The children's room had only a tiny wardrobe and a dirty carpet. The ski storage was also inadequate. Each room is supposed to have a place for skis and boots, but ours was too small even for one pair of ski boots. A niche for five pairs of skis and one snowboard is unacceptable. Dinner was another disappointment. You can’t count on being able to order a set menu spontaneously in the evening. Shortly after 5:00 pm, the only seats available were in a cold, uncomfortable conservatory. The kitchen sent a small appetizer as a nice gesture, and the food itself was good, though not outstanding. Prices for food, drinks, and wine were far too high. If you know wines from your home region and the winemakers, you know the purchase price has nothing to do with the à la carte price. The prices were outstanding, but the value for money was unacceptable. From the outside, the hotel and restaurant look well presented. Inside, it was a no go. The light sensors stayed on all night, and noise from the ventilation or boiler room was deafening. Definitely YES Yzu tol5

We only stopped in for coffee, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. The service deserves special mention, though. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel genuinely welcome. We haven’t had service this good in a long time. Five stars don’t feel like enough. If you’re in Filzmoos, you absolutely have to stop by.
