Leonhard Stock

Leonhard and Gundi were such welcoming hosts, often chatting with guests in the dining room, lending a hand, and even cooking breakfast. We came from upstate New York for our first trip to Austria in October 2024, partly because of Leonhard Stock’s connection to Lake Placid, NY, where he won the downhill race at the 1980 Winter Olympics. The stay exceeded our expectations: spacious, clean rooms, outstanding food, and a luxurious spa. We had beautiful weather and kept busy hiking, taking the gondola to the top of the Hintertux glacier, playing golf, and going to a World Cup ski race in Solden. We’ll never forget this visit and hope to return in winter.

The Stock couple were always around to help, working alongside their employees to look after guests. That really stood out. We’re a vegan family, and although they said they weren’t very experienced with vegan food, they went out of their way for us. The meals were fresh and tasty, with new dishes each day, and they even brought us vegan cakes as an afternoon snack after skiing. The hotel feels like a family place, and the rooms are clean, lovely, and spacious enough for families. There’s a playground where kids and adults can spend time together, plus a great spa for unwinding after skiing or a day out. We had an amazing stay and would absolutely choose you again next time we’re in the area. Thanks for making our holiday so good.

We loved staying here. The staff were both professional and friendly, and breakfast and dinner were delicious and well prepared. The sauna and pool stay open late, and the ski area is close by. There are also several hiking trails within walking distance. Thanks for having us.

The former Olympic champion who owns the hotel takes guests skiing every Tuesday, and the spa and pool are really nice. Food was a highlight too, from breakfast and the post-ski snack to a super dinner. The rooms are well kept and have a view. The ski room and gym felt a little small, but we’ll definitely be back. Ten-star place.
