Hotel Hubertus

We loved this quiet hotel in the beautiful old centre of Friestadt. The room was immaculate, the service was excellent and nothing felt like too much trouble. Good value too.

We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. We booked a night at short notice with our little daughter, who was one and a half, and were delighted by the warm Mühlviertel hospitality. She was especially welcome, and the café had loads of great toys for her. Our clean room had a very comfortable bed. We appreciated the focus on regional quality at the breakfast buffet, and the café was lovely too, decorated with care down to the smallest detail, with delicious coffee. The location is fantastic, tucked among picturesque little alleyways, quiet but right in the centre.

A nice hotel and pastry shop in a very central spot, with several restaurants nearby. Still, we only felt comfortable when we arrived. The owner was helpful that first day, then we didn't hear from him again. The first breakfast was awful, though it was fine after that. I won't comment on the owner's wife. Now I understand why reviews for the same place can be so wildly different.

We were a group of eight and would give it four stars. The rooms were very nice, and a breakfast buffet is included. It's very central, and reception can provide passes for free parking in the city centre. Excellent value for money, and we'd definitely come back.
