We went for dinner and felt the staff were much friendlier to local residents than to us. Some seemed unwilling to repeat what they had said because we were foreigners, and their manner toward us felt quite impolite.

The half-board price was good for what we got, and I’d definitely come back to ski here. I spent a week skiing and relaxing with my daughter. There was a large breakfast buffet, and plenty of choice at meals, including meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan options. Our room was a little dark but had lots of space. The basement wellness area had several saunas, a swimming pool and a fitness room.

After 25 years of family stays, including in most of the rooms and the annex, we left this time and booked another hotel. We had booked half board as usual and had always eaten in the main hotel without problems. When we arrived on 15/01/23, our regular rooms weren’t ready. We were told we’d be eating at the Altepost, the adjacent hotel they’d recently bought. That wasn’t what we wanted, especially as it’s only a 2 star hotel and needs a full refurbishment. Then we learned that the usual five-course dinner would be a buffet for our entire stay. When I tried to discuss it with the manager, the owner’s daughter, she put her hand in my face and said she wasn’t willing to discuss it. I found her rude and ignorant. The owner wasn’t interested either. He spoke rudely to his wife in German, and she ignored me and walked away. Other British guests had also been put in the Altepost and weren’t happy. German guests were welcomed with a glass of Processo, while we received nothing. We’d spent more than £50,000 there over the years, which seemed to count for nothing. I found the family rude and ignorant, with no sense of customer service. Be cautious: you may think you’ve booked the main hotel and end up in the 2 star hotel next door.

The service was great, and the bartender, a half Tunisian, half Italian guy, clearly loves his job. There’s a great atmosphere, and if you’re after a mid-sized hotel, I don’t think there’s a better choice in the area. It’s not far from Stubai and about a 3-minute drive to Schlitz. The food was excellent, and the sauna and swimming pool area was one of the best places I’ve relaxed. It has six saunas, waterbeds and an outdoor jacuzzi. If you prefer modern rooms, ask for one in the new part of the hotel.
