Familien- & Vitalhotel Auenhof

The setting is wonderful for families, and the garden is beautiful. We enjoyed our massages, and the owners were friendly, though communicating with everyone wasn't always easy without German. Our son had a birthday during the stay, and the decorated dinner table was a sweet touch. The hotel is very family friendly, with spacious, clean rooms, a games room for kids, and a small but clean pool and sauna area. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and tasty, but the vegetarian dinners were only fine, not great. We also had to ask about things like whether the kitchen was closed one day, and figured out ourselves that we could take a breakfast sandwich for later. More information, maybe a comprehensive info sheet, would help. Would definitely recommend it, though I wish my German were better!

The owners are personable and friendly, and they go the extra mile to make you comfortable. We've stayed two years in a row and had a wonderful time on both visits. For families, there's lots for kids: a playroom, paper and coloring pencils at dinner, a pool, mini cinema, and a lovely outdoor garden. Each night brings a high-quality 5 course meal, with good wines like Big John or Peak of Glory, bubbles such as Zigetti, and great cocktails. The service across the hotel is excellent. We're already looking forward to coming back.

The hotel's a little away from the ski resort and village center, which is a minor downside. To reach Schlick 2000, there's a free bus ride of under 15 mins, after a 5-10 minute walk to the stop. Carrying ski gear that far can be inconvenient, so storing it at the resort is a good idea. The glacier is reachable by bus too, though driving takes about 30 mins and is more convenient and faster. We found the best price and availability on the Hotel website. The family-run hotel has outstanding hospitality, excellent food beyond what you'd expect for its class, and clean rooms and pool of reasonable size. Great value overall.

Our vacation was perfect and relaxing, thanks to all the staff for their dedication and commitment. The garden is lovely, the pool is nice, and the food dishes are remarkable. Strongly recommend it for a great stay in the wonderful Stubai valley. Thank you, Helene, Katrine and Harald!! Grazie!!
