That balcony overlooking Fuschlsee was the best part of our stay. We booked the top apartment at Haus Meißnitzer for a self-catering trip, and it was clean and well appointed. Family Meißnitzer made us feel welcome and were easygoing. The house is in a quiet spot near the Sommerrodelbahn, and the center of Fuschl am See is a ten-minute walk, with public transport to Salzburg and farther into the Salzkammergut. There’s plenty to do nearby, from walking and cycling to sightseeing. We’ve stayed in hotels in Fuschl am See a few times before and hope to return to Haus Meißnitzer.

The Salzkammergut is stunning, and this is a lovely place to use as a base for exploring it. I’ve been coming here for years, so I’m probably biased, but I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The family is nice too.

We were warmly welcomed by the Meissnitzer family and had a spectacular sunset each of our three days there. The apartment was very clean, and from the balcony you can see almost all of Fuschlsee. We’d love to return if we get the chance.

The owners were kind and helpful, and even brought us fresh towels whenever we needed more. Our first-floor apartment was spotless, including the bathroom, and had plenty of towels. It was well equipped with a dishwasher, coffee maker, and more, plus a lovely lake view from the balcony. We also had free access cards for the swimming pool. I highly recommend it.
