Hotel DAS REGINA

We stopped in for dinner and found the staff accommodating and friendly. The lamb chops were delicious and perfectly curated, and the risotto was presented very nicely. I'd highly recommend visiting the restaurant when you're in Bad Gastein, even if you're not staying at the hotel.

The location is great for the slopes, and downstairs there's a lovely little spa and a cinema room. We enjoyed the restaurant food, and the bartender makes a really good cocktail. The staff were friendly and helpful too. It's a delightful place, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The hotel's location, service, and breakfasts made everything enjoyable and convenient, and we had a pleasant stay. Some parts of the hotel feel dated and could use renovation. A few updates would make the experience truly exceptional.

We stayed over Christmas and won't be back. The rooms were okay, but poorly insulated, and at times there was no hot water. At breakfast they kept serving old bread until someone spoke up. Several things shown clearly in the photos didn't work, including the TV, central fireplace, and sauna. Those are all small issues if they're dealt with properly, or even just met with a smile. Instead, the manager was incredibly rude, ignored everything I said, and even threatened to throw us out on Christmas Day. In my opinion, that showed a lack of empathy and hotel management skills. The other staff were friendly but couldn't do anything without checking with the boss, Olaf. Even without that personal insult, it wasn't good value for money. Decide whether you're running a cheap and cheerful 'Pension' (B&B) or a Boutiquehotel, because the latter needs to deliver. The place has potential, but it needs better management.
