The little details made our weekend at Schüttkasten Hotel feel special. Staff greeted us with genuine smiles, and their care made the place feel like home. The menu for the à la carte dishes was available in English, and breakfast came with a daily newsletter alongside a magnificent buffet. Set in Geras, about an hour from Vienna, the hotel is a modernized 1663 granary that now also serves as an art and conference center. The art on display is for sale, which adds to its contemporary gallery feel. The chefs also list the local suppliers they support, a thoughtful touch that reflects the hotel's respect for people and place. All facilities are wheelchair accessible. Thank you to everyone who made this a memorable stay.

The countryside and Geras Abbey views from the restaurant are stunning. We had a lovely time there. The food was outstanding, and the waiters were very friendly. Service was great and came quickly, with no long waits.

The restaurant's menu reads almost like a poem and has plenty of regional specialties, including local fish. My pork was good, though a bit too salty. The bear's garlic sauce was wonderful, and the service was attentive and friendly. There's a nice terrace outside.

The accommodation is small and really nice, with convenient parking right in front of the building. Breakfast was sufficient. The coffee could be better, but it was fine :) We had dinner too, and it was good and reasonably priced for Austria.
