Appartments Am Bach

Being able to walk to the Dorfbahn made getting out for each ski day effortless. The owners also run a ski school in the same building, so arranging lessons for the kids was simple. The management and instructors were professional, efficient, and effective. We had a wonderful family holiday at Am Bach Appartment’s in Gerlos. The apartments were very clean, with all the appliances well maintained. Our host was incredibly kind and warm, and the place felt like a home away from home. The apartments really added to our vacation, and we'll definitely return.

The stay felt uncomfortable from the start. We were warned to “behave ourselves” because of previous guests, which came across as unfriendly and somewhat prejudiced. During the visit, we were repeatedly criticized for noise, even though we felt we were being normal and respectful, cooking together and playing quiet background music. The concerns were raised only later, often in an accusatory tone, rather than at the time. When one of our friends became ill, we cleaned everything thoroughly, took responsibility, and offered to pay any extra costs. Still, the host's response seemed disproportionate. Coming into the apartment without telling us first, along with the way they spoke to us, made an already difficult situation more unpleasant. Communication often felt tense or dismissive, and there seemed to be little interest in a constructive conversation. We were also told about complaints from other guests that we couldn't verify. A large part of our €500 deposit was kept for cleaning and replacement costs, which we don't think was proportionate. We'd already paid a cleaning fee and left the apartment tidy, and we have photos to show that. Others may have had a good experience, but we found little hospitality or transparency and never felt particularly welcome or at ease. That's not what you hope for when booking accommodation.

We've visited Am Bach Appartements four times, and it's our favorite place for summer hiking. You don't need a car because the bus and lift pass is included. The setting by the stream is beautiful, with five hikes starting right from the front door. There are stunning lakes, streams, waterfalls, and views, and SPAR is just a short walk away for shopping. The apartment is spacious and spotless, with two bedrooms, two lovely balconies overlooking the views, and a modern kitchen. Maria, Ingo, and Pius, thanks for all your help. We'll be back!!!!!!

I can't comment on the apartments themselves, but the way requests are handled was really poor. The owners didn't seem to read my email and sent the same automated offer twice without addressing what I asked.
