Magerl

The owner is such a warm, lovely person that her hospitality alone makes the hotel worth booking. We had a two-room apartment with a living room and were very happy with it. Breakfast was great, and the small pool was super nice, especially on colder days and for the kids. Of course, swimming in the lake was even better; I recommend the public area beside the one included with the hotel. The hotel is in an amazing spot next to the quiet cable car.

The family who own this guest house are welcoming and friendly, and the location and view are five-star. I stayed for two weeks while working in the area. As someone who only speaks English, I was nervous about coming to Gmunden, but I felt relieved when I arrived at Magerl. The staff speak perfect English and are very accommodating. The man who hosts is friendly and will talk basketball with you, among other things. I have nothing but good things to say. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in the country and tell my friends and associates to do the same. Thank you, Magerl family, for making my first trip to Austria a great experience.

The breakfast was really good, and all the workers were so kind. Our room was tidy and clean, with a terrace looking out over a lovely lake view. There’s a small town within walking distance, too. I was happy with everything. It was a really wonderful place!

Everyone made us feel welcome, often stopping for a kind word with us or our one-year-old. It felt like visiting family, which made sense with the hotel’s note that it has been run for three generations. Our double room was huge, and the furniture was comfortable. A very nice hotel with a great view. Definitely recommend it.
