The room was clean, roomy, and even had Amazon Fire TV. Breakfast included homemade jam and honey that seemed to come from a local beekeeper. The people were very friendly, so I’d recommend staying here if you’re nearby and need a place to sleep. In the evening we went downstairs hoping to eat, but the restaurant seemed closed. It was within the stated Friday to Sunday hours after 4:30, yet we couldn’t find anyone and felt awkward being the only people around. After wandering through a few empty rooms, we decided to eat what we had with us. The lights in the breakfast room also had a noticeable patina.

There’s a garden where you can eat outside on warm days, and the kitchen serves classic Austrian food. It’s a family-friendly motel in an old building, with rooms in a range of sizes.

Our room had its own toilet, which we were lucky to get, since some rooms use shared toilets in the corridor. The accommodation is very basic. The hosts were fine, though not especially friendly.

I called in German to ask whether we needed to reserve dinner. The person on the phone answered “no thanks” in a rude, sarcastic way and hung up. We took our money and went to a restaurant down the road.
