Hotel Fahrnberger

The food and drinks were a real highlight, with tasty local choices at breakfast and dinner, lovely presentation, and drinks made with real skill. We spent two fabulous nights at Fahrnberger Hotel, where a friendly couple clearly care about hospitality and making guests feel relaxed. The place is warm, cozy, and comfortable, with a wellness spa and three kinds of saunas. If you want a pampering mountain break with a local feel, this is a lovely choice. Five stars from us. We loved our stay. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the view was wonderful. The food was fresh and delicious, and both the staff and owners were exceptionally kind, professional, attentive, and helpful.

The Hochkar slopes are close by, so getting out to ski and back to the hotel is easy, and the setting itself is peaceful. After skiing, the wellness area is a treat, with three saunas and a relaxing room. You can even step outside into the snow to cool down, which is a shock at first but feels great afterward. The buildings are said to have foundations from the 14th century, but inside you wouldn't guess they're so old. The rooms are clean and cozy, and it's wonderfully quiet for sleeping. Just got back from Hotel Fahrnberger and had a fantastic stay.

A lovely place, with friendly staff who go the extra mile to provide good service. The food could be a little better. On warm summer nights, it would also help to have insect screens so you can open the windows, or air conditioning.
