We stayed in holiday apartment number 3 and found it very nice. You can book the sauna as an extra, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We were welcomed very warmly and could even check into the apartment at lunchtime. Our friends later took the second apartment. Both were clean and nice, and I would have happily given the stay many stars if things had ended there. Some other friends were staying at the campsite, which we had mentioned at check-in. When they came over to visit, the hosts insisted they had to be registered every single time, even though we’d initially agreed that letting them know once was enough. They then completely lost their temper and banned any more visits. The claim that guests should feel at home doesn’t square with this level of intrusion. In 35 years of holiday rentals, I’ve never experienced anything like it. It felt as though guests were only there to pay and otherwise had to do as they were told. That’s not hospitality.

After days hiking in the beautiful mountains of the Tannheim Valley, the sauna area was a real wellness treat. We could walk there straight from the apartment in our bathrobes. The apartment itself was well equipped and furnished attractively and comfortably, and Andrea and Laura were both friendly and helpful, which added a lot to our stay at Gästehaus Wötzer. The value for money was excellent. There’s a convenient laundry service, bread roll delivery, and shops within walking distance. A guesthouse with heart.

The warm welcome and hospitality made our holiday feel like staying with friends, even when the weather wasn’t always perfect. The host family were wonderful and supportive, and there was private parking and a bread delivery service too. Five stars don’t feel like enough. We’ll definitely be back.
