The room was carefully prepared for the evening. Coming back after dinner to find the blinds closed and the lighting set for a restful night really made a difference. Housekeeping and the rest of the service were excellent throughout our stay. We were there in May for just three nights with our four-year-old, and it all felt perfect. Even in a five-star spa hotel, we felt our child was truly welcome. The atmosphere was refined but relaxed, and we never felt out of place or worried about the occasional disapproving look if he got lively. The small wild strawberries on the cakes caught our son's eye at snack time. We casually asked whether he could have a few extra, if they had any. The waitress brought a whole little cup, which made his day. She remembered him the next day and brought strawberries again, kindly apologizing that the wild ones weren't available that time. That kind of attention and care felt rare and really touching. The bartender was especially warm and welcoming, with such a humble, friendly manner that you wanted to stay and chat all evening. Live music at the bar each night made for an elegant, relaxed atmosphere. It was a memorable stay, and we'd return without hesitation.

We've always loved this hotel for its atmosphere and impeccable service, and we'll be back every year. You really see what hospitality means when something goes wrong. Sadly, a severe medical emergency affecting our whole family forced us to cancel our New Year's Eve reservation at the very last minute, and we were heartbroken to miss the trip. The team responded with such warmth and genuine concern for our health. Special thanks to Denise! They immediately gave us a full refund instead of applying strict cancellation terms during such a busy season. That kindness, empathy and fairness are rare. They've earned our loyalty, and we can't wait to return when we recover. Highly, highly recommended!

The wellness area is lovely and relaxing, and the pool has a great mountain view. From the service and food to all the facilities, everything was amazing. The views from around the hotel are incredible, and all the staff were so pleasant and helpful. When we had trouble with our hiking shoes, one staff member even called a local shoe shop for us. Just perfect.

The food was good, though over the week I noticed leftovers being served again in different forms. The saunas are nice but small. There’s no iron or ironing board, and the beds were hard with limp, lumpy pillows, so I didn’t sleep very comfortably. There’s no air conditioning, which meant keeping the balcony door open. Since smoking is allowed on the balconies, smoke drifted into my room. Pretty disgusting. A nice place, but certainly not a five-star hotel.

We’d been here three times, and the rest of the staff were friendly, but after this visit we won’t return. The manager himself came over and shushed my children, pointing at them, after someone complained they were loud. They were only laughing. Families with children didn’t seem welcome, and the way this simple issue was handled felt unprofessional. It didn’t feel like a five-star hotel or a serious business. We love Tanheimer Tal and will spend our money somewhere we feel welcome next time. 👎
