B&B Hotel Graz-Hbf

It took four hours to sort out a problem at checkout. We were only an hour over our time, but hotel staff locked us out of the room so we couldn’t get our belongings, then claimed we owed a penalty. They dropped the charge after police arrived because they couldn’t prove we had to pay it. The staff were very rude. The room was small and dirty, and nobody came to clean during our several-day stay. They only came after we left.

The hotel is very close to the central station, and the rooms were nice. But the cleaner knocked three times before checkout, even after she knew I was still in the room. I also couldn’t pay for coffee by card, although they did accept card for the tourist tax.

They held my luggage before check-in, which was helpful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, just right for my stay. The hotel is handy for the train station, though getting to the old town takes a bit of walking, and it’s a pleasant walk.

The entry code worked reliably for us, and I liked that we didn’t need a key or card. With the windows facing a busy street, we kept them closed and used the air conditioning; even in summer, we slept comfortably. The beds suited us, though that’s a matter of taste. We were generally happy with B&B Hotel Graz Hauptbahnhof and felt it met expectations for its category. The big garage across the street made parking easy. It’s separately run, but we could pay for it at the hotel for less than the garage’s own rate. I’d give the stay 8 out of 10.
