Grand Hôtel Wiesler Graz

We had a wonderful stay. After spending a cold day sightseeing, we were glad to warm up in the fantastic sauna, and the comfortable room made it easy to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful, while breakfast in the beautiful restaurant was delicious and ran until 1 pm, so we could take our morning slowly. The hotel is stylish and cozy, and a short walk from the city center. We’ll stay here again when we’re in Graz.

The breakfast was legendary, and the hotel's location was perfect for our visit. The three of us, including an 11-year-old, stayed two nights and had a great time. The staff were friendly, and both the hotel and our simple room were clean. We did hear building operation noises in our room early both mornings, but that’s my one small complaint. I’d stay here again without hesitation.

After I reported the noise, the staff promptly moved me to a top-floor room. It was quiet there, and I finally got a proper night's sleep. I appreciate how willing they were to help, though the loading dock issue still needs attention for future guests in the rooms above it. On my first night, after a long journey and ahead of a full workday, trucks started unloading and loading large wheeled metal stands at 5:30 AM. They were likely for kitchen supplies. The noise was very loud and went on for an hour. I woke up immediately and couldn't get back to sleep. Even a very deep sleeper would have struggled. Being put in a room like that seriously affected my hotel experience. Rest is the most basic thing a hotel should provide, and I couldn't rest at all. I don't think rooms exposed to that level of noise should be offered to guests.

The location was lovely, but service felt lacking. We had to complain several times before we could get milk and coffee for the room. We booked an extra luxury room for our honeymoon, yet it was small and quite plain. Being on the second floor also meant loud footsteps and kitchen clatter from 6 am. I wish the staff had taken better care of the few guests staying there. We found the spa and tea area ourselves, since no one told us about them, and neither was very impressive.
