Ibis Styles Graz Messe

The area was quiet, and town is a 20 minute walk away. There’s also the 5/6 tram just around the corner. The receptionists were lovely, spoke very well and were kind, and they upgraded my room for free. I absolutely loved staying here and would come back. I didn’t try the food, but the shower pressure was great.

Check-in was lovely and the stay was very positive overall. In the morning I needed an iron and ironing board, but the receptionist said there was only one iron and someone had taken it. They hadn’t written down that guest’s room number, and she didn’t try to help me find it. I was completely speechless.

I was disappointed that, as an ALL Diamond member, I got no acknowledgment or welcome gesture at check-in. I know it can vary between properties, but compared with other Accor stays this felt impersonal. Breakfast was mediocre, with limited choice and little to remember. During F1 weekend the rates went up considerably, which may be expected, but the service and quality didn’t justify what we paid. I’ve stayed at many ibis properties, and this one fell well below the standard I expect. I wouldn’t return or recommend it, even for a short visit. The room was dusty, the bedding was uncomfortable, and the pillows were so unpleasant I slept without one. There was no phone in the room. When I needed help I called from my mobile, but nobody answered, so I had to go down to the lobby. The hotel also felt dated and oddly dirty despite the relatively new decor, as if it might have been a rebranded property rather than purpose-built as an ibis Styles. We stayed one night during the F1 weekend, and it didn’t meet expectations.

The staff were very nice, and the rooms were at the usual Ibis level. The location felt a little strange, though, sleeping next to a graveyard.
