The food was solid Austrian cooking, nothing fancy, but good. Everyone on staff was really friendly, and the guesthouse is a nice base in the Waldvilter for biking or hiking. It also works well as an overnight stop for motorcyclists. The rooms are quaint, though they could do with a bit of updating.

We were right by the narrow gauge steam railway, with lots of hiking trails nearby. The hotel sits in the middle of a fascinating village and has extensive gardens. Our room was very comfortable, and the balcony was wonderful. Breakfast was excellent, and dogs are made very welcome. Thanks to the wonderful host, who spoke perfect English.
